About Jay Ellis

Jay Ellis is an actor best know for his role on the BET’s hit series, “The Game." Ellis stared as Bryce “Blueprint” Westbrook, a brilliant Stanford grad and recipient of the Heisman Trophy. His other credits include guest-starring roles on Master of Sex, Crash & Bernstein, Hart of Dixie, How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, and Grey’s Anatomy. Jay can been seen this fall in the new HBO series Insecure, created by Issa Rae. He also just completed production on the film Like Cotton Twines written and directed by Lelia Djansi.
Mr. Ellis is a self-proclaimed “Air Force Brat,” born in Sumter, South Carolina. Just before high school, Jay and his family settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended Metro Christian Academy where he excelled academically and in athletics. His athletic abilities earned Ellis a basketball scholarship to Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. There he was elected student body President, spent 2 years working with AmeriCorps in Oregon, and completed a successful internship with the Portland Trailblazers before deciding to ultimately follow his childhood dream of becoming an actor.
Jay is very active in the community and has engaged in numerous civic activities, this foundation is his way of maintaining a direct, positive impact on the community.
